The Darkest Lie
By: Gena Showalter
Gideon, keeper of Lies, finds himself in a confusing position when his friends bring another Lord into their fortress. This one is Scarlet, keeper of Nightmares, and confesses to being Gideon’s wife. As the keeper of Lies, Gideon can tell the difference between a truth and a lie, but what Scarlet tells him doesn’t register as either. As the two quest to find the answers, they find themselves falling in love – and bed – no matter how much they try to deny each other.
I love Gideon! (Not a lie!) I love his character so much, almost as though he could be my best friend or an annoying brother. And Scarlet! That sarcastic sense of humor is amazing! I’d probably react the same way to Gideon as she did, knowing what he means but taking it in the literal since just to get on his nerves.
I highly recommend this book. Although, it wasn’t one of my favorites in the series, it was still amazingly written. But if you don’t think you can handle Gideon Speak, I’d stay clear.
